Waste Management

01

Overview

A building-wide waste programme bringing separation at source, tidy collection points and scheduled removal to a busy multi-tenant building.

02

The Challenge

A busy multi-tenant building had overflowing bins, a neglected bin store and no consistent way of separating or removing waste.

Offices, shops and a food outlet all produced different kinds of waste, but everything ended up mixed in the same store. Collections were irregular, odours and pests were becoming a concern, and building management wanted an arrangement they could rely on and account for.

Our Approach

We reviewed how waste was produced and moved through the building, then designed a practical programme covering bins, signage, storage, collection and record keeping.

The Solution

A simple, building-wide waste programme that tenants understand and building management can rely on.

Each floor now has clearly labelled bins for general, recyclable and organic waste, and tenants received simple guidance on what goes where. The central bin store was cleaned, reorganised and kept to a regular cleaning routine.

Collections run on a fixed schedule agreed with building management, with waste handled in line with NEMA requirements and records kept so the management team always knows what has left the building.
